MATERIALS
2 balls of 150-200 Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool Yarn in Oak Tweed Large-Eye Blunt Needle Stitch Markers Circular knitting needle size 9 (5.5mm), 73.5cm (29in) long
TENSION
16 sts and 22 rows = 10cm (4in) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). When you match the tension in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient.
If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 10cm (4in) square, try using a smaller size needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size needles.

PATTERN STITCH
K1, p1 Rib (odd number of sts)
Row 1: *K1, p1; rep from * to last st, k last st. Row 2: K the knit sts and p the purl sts.
Rep Row 2 for K1, p1 Rib.
NOTE
Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
SHRUG
Cast on 153 sts. Work in K1, p1 Rib until piece measures 5cm (2in) from beg. Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures 106.5cm (42in) from beg. Work in K1, p1 Rib until piece measures 112cm (44in) from beg. Cast off.
FINISHING
Fold piece in half, bringing cast-on edge to bound off edge, to measure 96.5x56cm (38x22in). Place markers on each of the 56cm (22in) sides, 18cm (7in) below fold for armholes. Seam sides from marker down to lower edge. Weave in ends.
