Yours 50 over fifty
50 over 50 is a fun and friendly club anyone can join – simply pledge to try 50 new things. Research shows that new activities not only improve concentration and fitness levels but are great confidence and mood-boosters too. Here’s a few ideas to get you started… Forage for fungi
With cooler weather and damp air, late autumn is the perfect time to get out in nature in search of fungi. They burst from the ground or from trees in a fascinating array of shapes and colours. There are more than 100,000 species of fungi to spot, from the Amethyst Deceiver to Deadman’s Fingers.
If you intend to eat your foraged finds, it’s essential to educate yourself on which should and shouldn’t be picked. There are books and smartphone apps to help identify the poisonous from the edible. Or why not see if there’s a local wild food expert who could take you on a foraging walk?

Autumn leaf wreath
This stylish seasonal decoration is super easy but needs a little patience.
Draw a large ring on strong card (the outside should be the size of a dinner plate and the inside a side plate) and cut out. Cut out two more rings, each a few centimetres smaller than the last and glue on top of the base to create a three-dimensional wreath shape. Select clean and dry leaves and attach to the base with a hot glue gun, laying them in the same direction in concentric circles until you have covered the card.
