It’s never too late to offer your loved ones support. Life Insurance from Co-op is a great way to ensure that those you care about are looked after when you’re no longer around. Having it in place will help bring you peace of mind, so that you can get on with enjoying everything that life has to offer. Here are some of our favourite fun suggestions for bringing the joy to every day.

Treat yourself

While it’s obviously important to think of others, there’s truth in the phrase ‘you can’t pour from an empty cup’. Ensure your cup of kindness is filled to the maximum by taking time out to give yourself a good pampering. A spa day or individual treatment such as a massage, manicure or facial is an excellent place to start, but if your budget won’t stretch to it you can always recreate that spa feeling in your own home. Light a candle, turn off your phone, play some classical music and paint your nails. Or perhaps just soak in a hot bath, adding some lovely bubbles or bath salts. And breathe…

Make new connections

It can feel tricky forging friendships as an adult, but there’s nothing quite like the warm glow of meeting a kindred spirit. Signing up to a class is a handy way to speed up the process – you’ve already got a shared interest to help conversation flow. Plus, as an added bonus, you’ll be learning a whole new skill to boot! If you’re stuck for ideas think back to your favourite subjects at school: perhaps an art or pottery class would unlock your creativity, maybe a poetry night will get your brain whizzing, or for science-enthusiasts, a local stargazing club will expand your world.

Escape the ordinary

A change of scenery does wonders for the mood. Foreign city breaks or seaside holidays are idyllic, but

there’s nothing to stop you from getting creative if you’ve got itchy feet. Why not offer to pet-sit for someone who lives in an interesting city, take a day trip to spot your childhood house, or simply explore your own town with fresh eyes. It’s all too easy to take local attractions for granted: check online to find the top-rated tourist spots near you and give them a try, or check an Ordnance Survey map of the area to hunt for hidden footpaths out in nature.

Challenge yourself

It’s still early enough in the year to set yourself an interesting goal for the months ahead. Selfimprovement doesn’t have to mean diets or joyless jogging – consider the things you love to do but never make time for. Perhaps you’d like to read a certain number of books per month, learn a new language using an app, or try a new recipe every week. Set an achievable amount of time to commit to your chosen activity and plan it into your diary to stay on track.
