The Castles Of Doctor Creep Brøderbund

Broderbund often lavished amazing covers on its games, and this horror platform game is another excellent example. While the game itself may have been a bit behind the times with its sparse graphics and sound, the cover is a thoroughly professional painting that, like Heroes of Karn from my previous six games, makes the player wonder what is in store for them. My favourite part of the image is the rat that stands boldly in front of you, front paws guarding an ornate key that you can be sure is needed to progress in the game. Back arched and staring malevolently with its pair of crimson eyes, it's a great rendition of the world's most maligned creature, while in the background, beyond the barred window, sits one of (presumably) Doctor Creep's castles and a full moon, complete with what I can only assume is a flock of bats.
