Agent USA Scholastic Inc.

-

The Fuzz is spreading throughout the USA, and only Agent USA can stop its rampant progress. Utilising the country's network of trains, of which he has a free pass, Agent USA uses his crystals to negate the fuzz's effects. It's a bizarre storyline, and somewhat at odds with the game's front cover, a picture of wonderful clean lines, the train to the right overshadowing the station and small figure trudging towards you. Two aspects appeal to me. The first is the figure's shadow, cast ominously onto the wood-slat wall behind him; the second is the agent's eyes, poking out from two holes cut in his hat. There's no sign of the game's antagonist within this cover, in fact little clue as to the agent's purpose at all. Given the game's status as an educational title, I wonder if that was a deliberate attempt to persuade parents that Agent USA was all about helping children learn about various locations in American rather than eliminating the mysterious fuzz.
