Get ready for cold sea­son with Ukrainian-pro­duced clothes

The old an­nual dilemma of choos­ing be­tween stylish or prac­ti­cal win­ter clothes is a thing of the past, as new Ukrainian brands now of­fer out­fits that both look classy, and keep out the cold.

Ukrainian com­pa­nies are pro­duc­ing ev­ery­thing from scarfs, hats and mit­tens, to win­ter boots and win­ter coats.

The Kyiv Post checks out some of the best Ukrainian brands of win­ter clothes.

Kat­su­rina Blan­ket

On a win­ter day in Kyiv, when tem­per­a­tures might fall to – 30 de­grees Cel­sius, some feel like wrap­ping them­selves up in a blan­ket be­fore go­ing out­side. Kat­su­rina is ca­ter­ing ex­actly to these peo­ple’s wishes. The brand pro­duces long down coats, which re­sem­ble large du­vet blan­kets, fas­tened with ei­ther rib­bons or clasps. The down coats by Kat­su­rina were a fash­ion hit on the city’s streets last year, and this year, the brand has come up with two more sizes of coats — short and medium — in 15 col­ors. The coats are made of real du­vet blan­kets in­side, and wa­ter­proof fab­ric on the out­side.

Pavlenki Work­shop

This brand first be­came fa­mous for its chunky knit­ted win­ter hats, which look comfy, yet cute. Apart from that, Pavlenki Work­shop sells knit­ted snoods, scarfs, mit­tens, cardi­gans and vests. Made of nat­u­ral wool, the brand’s ac­ces­sories and clothes are not only warm, but also col­or­ful, and will brighten up any win­ter look.

Sammy Icon

Sammy Icon, Kyiv’s own brand of col­or­ful socks with un­usual de­signs, says that their socks are the best present for a per­son who has ev­ery­thing. Sammy Icon’s high socks will fit in with any clas­si­cal or ca­sual look, while warm­ing up feet even on the cold­est days. The brand of­fers a range of sock sizes and de­signs for women, men and chil­dren. The socks are made of ei­ther cot­ton or wool.

Sammy Icon. Since Must Have started sell­ing its wom­enswear seven years ago, it has grown into a pop­u­lar brand, with six stores in Kyiv and one in Odesa. The brand mostly sells smart-ca­sual clothes and ac­ces­sories. For the colder sea­sons, the brand of­fers jack­ets, trench coats, sweat­shirts, jeans and trousers, knit­ted dresses, cardi­gans, turtle­necks, sweaters, hats and scarfs. Cozy and warm, yet el­e­gant and stylish, the clothes are a great pick for both of­fice wear and a walk in a park.

Seven Moun­tains mostly sells clothes for men, al­though it does stock some items for women. The brand of­fers ca­sual and min­i­mal­is­tic ap­parel, in­clud­ing jack­ets and coats, sweat­shirts and hood­ies, pants and flan­nel shirts. For women, the brand pro­duces ca­sual jack­ets and parkas.
