NASA as­tro­naut posts spec­tac­u­lar pic­ture of Kyiv from space

U.S. as­tro­naut Ran­dolph Bres­nik has pub­lished a pic­ture of Kyiv he took from the In­ter­na­tional Space Sta­tion, the or­bit­ing sci­en­tific out­post that has been cir­cling the planet since 1998. Bres­nik posted the photo of Kyiv at night on Face­book on Dec. 12, along with photos of Dublin, Ire­land, Copen­hagen, Den­mark, and Ed­in­burgh, Scot­land. Even from space, the dis­tricts of the Ukraine's cap­i­tal are vis­i­ble, picked out by street light­ing. “Good night from In­ter­na­tional Space Sta­tion. Kyiv Ukraine, Dublin Ire­land, Copen­hagen Den­mark, Ed­in­burgh Scot­land,” the post reads. Bres­nik is part of the NASA ex­pe­di­tion crew that ar­rived at the sta­tion in July. He of­ten posts pic­tures of var­i­ous lo­ca­tions around the Earth that he takes from or­bit, 408 kilo­me­ters above.
