Yuliia Dzhima wins gold at Biathlon World Cup

Ukrainian biathlon ath­lete Yuliia Dzhima won the 15-kilo­me­ter in­di­vid­ual com­pe­ti­tion at the IBU World Cup Biathlon in Pokljuka, Slove­nia, on Dec. 6, 2018. Dzhima didn't miss a sin­gle tar­get dur­ing shoot­ings, which won her the gold medal. The ath­lete hit the fin­ish line in 43 min­utes af­ter her start. And it's her first vic­tory of such kind. "Hon­estly, I'm still un­der the im­pres­sion. I didn't re­al­ize it yet," Dzhima told the UA Per­shyi TV chan­nel. Other Ukrainian Olena Pidhrushna was the last one to make it to the top 15, fol­lowed by her com­pa­triot Anas­tasiya Merkushyna, who fin­ished 16th. Ukrainian biath­lete Yuliia Zhu­ra­vok was 20th and Vita Se­merenko fin­ished 41st. (AFP)
