Learn about Hawai‘i’s agri­cul­ture and cul­tural his­tory, view en­dan­gered na­tive wa­ter birds, and ex­plore the cul­ti­va­tion and uses of taro, a tra­di­tional Poly­ne­sian food source at the ONLY re­main­ing rice mill in ALL of HAWAI‘I. Ho‘op­u­la­pula Haraguchi Rice Mill is a non­profit agrar­ian mu­seum lo­cated in the taro fields of Hanalei Val­ley. The Rice Mill is listed on the Na­tional His­toric Reg­is­ter of His­toric Places and dates back to the 1800s. Reser­va­tions for the eco­tour are re­quired; please do not go on to the prop­erty - reser­va­tions are made at the Hanalei Taro and Juice Com­pany lunch­wagon. Sup­port lo­cal farm­ers by stop­ping and eat­ing at the lunch wagon in Hanalei. Please no tres­pass­ing in re­spect to en­dan­gered bird nest­ing ar­eas for ac­cess.
