Arash Emami, MD, is a na­tion­ally renowned board-cer­ti­fied spine sur­geon fully versed in op­er­a­tive and non-op­er­a­tive treat­ment of adult and pe­di­atric spinal dis­or­ders. As a leader in the field of min­i­mally in­va­sive spine surgery, Dr. Emami is rec­og­nized with orig­i­nal pub­li­ca­tions on safety of out­pa­tient spinal surg­eries and has made hun­dreds of pre­sen­ta­tions at sci­en­tific meet­ings world­wide. He was the first sur­geon in New Jer­sey to per­form cer­vi­cal and lum­bar disc arthro­plasty. Dr. Emami has also been fea­tured in the me­dia on the ABC, CBS and HBO tele­vi­sion net­works, as well as The Star Ledger. He has been rec­og­nized as one of Cas­tle Connolly’s New York/New Jer­sey Top Doc­tors ev­ery year since 2005, and has earned dis­tinc­tion as one of Amer­ica’s Top Spine Sur­geons for the Con­sumer’s Re­search Coun­cil. Dr. Emami was also a con­sult­ing team physi­cian for the NY Rangers pro­fes­sional hockey team. He earned his med­i­cal doc­tor­ate with hon­ors from Univer­sity of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine, and com­pleted his or­thopaedic res­i­dency at the Univer­sity of Chicago and a fel­low­ship in spinal surgery at Univer­sity of Cal­i­for­nia, San Fran­cisco. Dr. Emami is cur­rently the Chair­man of Orthopaedics and the Chief of Spine Surgery at St. Joseph’s Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter. He is a fel­low of the Amer­i­can Academy of Or­thopaedic Sur­geons, and a mem­ber of the North Amer­i­can Spine So­ci­ety and the Sco­l­io­sis Re­search So­ci­ety.

Ki Soo Hwang, MD, is a board-cer­ti­fied, fel­low­ship-trained or­tho­pe­dic sur­geon spe­cial­iz­ing in spine surgery. He earned his med­i­cal doc­tor­ate from Univer­sity of Medicine and Den­tistry of New Jer­sey, New Jer­sey Med­i­cal School. He then com­pleted his or­thopaedic res­i­dency at the Mai­monides Med­i­cal Cen­ter and his fel­low­ship in spine surgery at Univer­sity of Cal­i­for­nia, San Fran­cisco. Dr. Hwang has also earned the Top Doc award mul­ti­ple times and is es­pe­cially skilled in the treat­ment of disc de­gen­er­a­tion, spinal steno­sis and spondy­lolis­the­sis through min­i­mally in­va­sive surg­eries. He uti­lizes ad­vanced tech­niques to cor­rect spinal de­for­mi­ties and of­ten per­forms re­vi­sion surgery for both pe­di­atric and adult pa­tients with failed back or flat back syn­drome. He has taught Or­thopaedic res­i­dents, Spine Surgery Fel­lows and other prac­tic­ing Spine Sur­geons around the world in the most cut­ting edge sur­gi­cal and non-sur­gi­cal spinal ap­proaches. Dr. Hwang has pub­lished nu­mer­ous peer re­viewed ar­ti­cles on the man­age­ment of spinal dis­or­ders. He en­joys talk­ing to his pa­tients to de­ter­mine the root of their spinal prob­lems.
