LAND ROVER PROTOTYPE SET FOR RESTORATION

4 Wheel & Off Road - - DRIVELINES -

Seventy years ago, Land Rover showed three preproduction prototypes at the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show to launch the now-iconic brand. One of the three disappeared for more than 60 years before it was discovered, in a strange twist of fate, just a few miles from Solihull, where it was originally built. After inspecting and verifying the long-lost prototype, LR has begun a “sympathetic restoration” that will get it running again but preserve its patina.
