THE BIGGER—AND CHEAPER—SILVERADO LT
Chevy announced that the high-volume LT model of the 2019 Silverado will be “larger, more capable, more fuel efficient, and feature a starting MSRP that is up to $700 less than the outgoing model.” That price reduction comes even with such new tech as a 2.7L turbocharged engine (with 22 percent more torque than the 4.3L V-6 it replaces), a new eight-speed transmission, and a fuel-saving auto stop/ start feature.
Chevy also said that the Z71 Off-road Equipment Package will be available on all models and standard equipment on the new Trail Boss. The Z71 package includes 18-inch wheels and allterrain tires, Rancho twin-tube shocks, an automatic locking rear diff, hill descent control, extra skidplates, and dual exhaust on V-8-equipped trucks.
Pricing on the 2019 Silverado starts at $29,795 for a 2WD regular-cab longbed Work Truck and goes all the way up to nearly $55,000 for a crew-cab shortbed High Country model. The Trail Boss models range from $40,000 to almost $50,000, depending on trim level and body/box configuration.
