Most people know a Premier Power onboard welder allows you to weld on the trail, ranch, or even driveway. Most also realize the built-in inverter allows use of most 110-volt electrical devices. But not everybody always realizes you can up the amperage and cut through steel like butter using cutting rod. Chris Durham broke a passenger-side axleshaft U-joint and shaft on a gnarly climb during Ultimate Adventure 2018 at the Northeast Off-Road Adventures facility in Ellenville, New York. When the U-joint blew it splayed the axleshaft ears, preventing the broken shaft from passing through the knuckle. Rather than pop off the ball joints, Durham fired up his Premier Power Welder and cut the offending ears off with a cutting rod, allowing easy removal of the busted parts.
