Love It/Hate It
We love a good bad girl, and GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Nelle certainly fits the bill. We get why so many viewers seem to flatout hate — as opposed to love-to-hate — Nelle… and it’s not simply because portrayer Chloe Lanier is so good at playing the schem- er. Nelle is, in many ways, her own worst enemy. Why figure out a way to make peace when you can instead cook up a nasty revenge plot? What we find so interesting is that despite the very obvious parallels between Nelle and Carly, the audience seems to believe that Michael’s babymama can not be redeemed. And using the memory of Sonny and Carly’s deceased son to haunt the still-grieving mother certainly isn’t scoring Nelle any points with those longing to see her punished! We suspect that before too long, Nelle will see her attempts to push Carly over the edge backfire, and it will likely cost her Michael. Yet we can’t help hoping that maybe, like Carly before her, Nelle will somehow manage to turn things around. Unfortunately, it may take a lot for some viewers to see past the outer schemer to the damaged young woman lurking beneath!
“Carly, I simply took a page from your book. Literally… you left your diary sitting on the bar.”
