Kim’s Desperate Move!

ABC Soaps In Depth - - News -

GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Kim has turned to just about everyone in Port Charles in her effort to save Oscar… but how far will she really go for her son?

The In Depth Story: With Oscar suing his parents for emancipation, his lawyer, Alexis, seems to have the kid’s best interests at heart… but that doesn’t matter to Kim. With the December 1 start date fast approaching for the experimental treatment that could save Oscar’s life, time is running out for her teenage son.

“Kim’s biggest fear is that he will die if he doesn’t get treatment — and her biggest motivation is to save her son’s life,” Tamara Braun says of her charac-

ter, who suddenly finds herself battling the person she loves most in the world. “She hates that there is distance between them, since they have always been so close. She’s been on her own with Oscar. He’s been the man in her life. It’s breaking her heart!”

It’s also been difficult for Oscar, who has flailed in the face of his illness and his mother’s perceived betrayal. Not only has he pushed away everyone who loves him, but the teen is risking his life to prove his independence and maturity. “I think a lot of people can remem- ber their own youth,” Braun notes. “We don’t all act out in those ways, but one thing we have in common is that we all want to escape our pain.”

That’s all well and good, but Kim isn’t concerned with Oscar’s emotional pain right now. When it comes to saving her son, Kim will take this battle “as far as she has to,” Braun promises. “Oscar is her everything.”

This week, as Oscar explores what family really means, Kim decides that desperate times call for desperate measures. But when she makes a shocking request of someone, will it bring about the result she desires?

Oscar may want to divorce his mother, but Kim is determined to save her son’s life, no matter what the cost!
