whether Hudson West ends up spending Christmas in Arizona or Ohio, the cutie who plays GH’s Jake knows one thing for sure: His holiday will be the cat’s meow. “The Christmas season is a time to reflect on what’s important to me,” he explains. “And to me, that is spending time with my family and my cats, Midnight, Stryker and Lightning. Since we aren’t together all the time, I am really looking forward to it.”

And for the record, Midnight, Stryker and Lightning are very much involved in the festivities. “My cats always like to be in on Christmas with us,” West shares. “They lay under the tree, they sit right by us when we open our presents, and they are really interested in the wrapping paper! We always get them treats and catnip, so we also like to watch them with their presents.”

The cats are also sure to be on alert when it comes to grandmother Philomena’s holiday influence. “She’s Italian, and her family tradition was to eat seven fishes on Christmas Eve,” West sets up. “So my mom tries to make us seven different types of fish to eat to follow my grandmother’s tradition.”

That may sound overwhelming to those who are not cats, but the youngster says, “It isn’t really torture, because we have shrimp, crab, lobster, oysters and fish. I like that stuff!”

No surprise, West also enjoys his holiday haul. While a phone and a hoverboard top his list of all-time-favorite gifts that he’s received from Santa, the PS4 that he shares with his brother, Maddox, is also pretty cool. “It works out great, because we have two controllers, so we both can play at the same time — no fighting going on,” he

“Opening presents and enjoying Christmas dinner are fun when we are all together,” West says. “I just like being with my

laughs. And then there are those presents that are as much for his father Scott as him and Maddox. “He bought some baseball equipment that teaches technique, and he likes to play that with us to help improve our games. And he built a hockey rink in the front yard — and he seemed to like skating on it more than anyone else!”

This year, the grateful little guy who competed on DANCING WITH THE STARS: JUNIORS isn’t asking for much. “I don’t have a very big wish list,” he says. “I just appreciate any gifts given to me.”

That seems like just the kind of attitude that Santa would appreciate!
