In­tuit de­buts Quick­books Desk­top 2019

Moun­tain View, Cal­i­for­nia — In­tuit in­tro­duced Quick­books Desk­top 2019, which adds sev­eral new fea­tures and up­dates to ex­ist­ing fea­tures. The high­light is an ef­fort to make back­ing up data eas­ier and more fool­proof, a ma­jor pain point for users of the desk­top soft­ware in the past. The main fea­ture up­dates in­clude: In­tuit data pro­tect was im­proved; The in­voice sta­tus tracker now en­ables users to ex­pe­dite col­lec­tions;

The new trans­fer cred­its fea­ture al­lows users to trans­fer cus­tomer cred­its across jobs;

Check-to-bill-pay pro­vides vis­i­bil­ity into un­paid ven­dor bills; Data file op­ti­miza­tion; A new re­port on in­ac­tive items in in­ven­tory was added;

An im­proved IIF (the pro­pri­etary Quick­books file for­mat) im­port­ing fea­ture checks the data be­fore im­port­ing it and gen­er­ates a re­port of is­sues if the im­port fails; and,

The pick, pack and ship fea­ture, avail­able for the QBD En­ter­prise Plat­inum Edi­tion only, was en­hanced.

Xero im­proves UI, adds fea­tures to core plat­form

Bris­bane, Aus­tralia — Dur­ing its an­nual Xe­ro­con Aus­tralia con­fer­ence, Xero an­nounced sev­eral new fea­tures and up­dates to its ac­count­ing soft­ware, which in­clude:

The “files re­quired” fea­ture is a new, more ef­fi­cient way for ad­vi­sors to iden­tify and col­lect client doc­u­ments in one place.

Email-to-bills, a ma­chine learn­ing fea­ture for Xero bills, is be­ing ex­panded to ex­tract and au­to­mat­i­cally pop­u­late de­tails from any email PDF bill into Xero.

The Xero app mar­ket­place now of­fers a new way for ad­vi­sors to get cu­rated app rec­om­men­da­tions for their clients, and show­case their ex­per­tise in tech­nol­ogy in­te­gra­tions.
