ARI­ZONA Eide Bailly merges in King, Tripp & Henry

De­tails: Eide Bailly LLP, a Top 100 Firm based in Fargo, North Dakota, is ex­pand­ing in Phoenix by adding CPA firm King, Tripp & Henry PLLC.

The com­bi­na­tion will add two part­ners and four staff mem­bers to Eide Bailly. They will work out of the firm’s ex­ist­ing Phoenix of­fice.

Fi­nan­cial terms of the deal were not dis­closed. Eide Bailly had $293 mil­lion in an­nual rev­enue, while KTH earned $1.7 mil­lion in rev­enue. Eide Bailly has 270 part­ners and ap­prox­i­mately 2,000 staff mem­bers in 28 of­fices.

COLORADO Plante Mo­ran and EKS&H fi­nal­ize merger

De­tails: Top 100 Firms EKS&H and Plante Mo­ran have fi­nal­ized the merger they agreed on in June, and an­nounced some per­son­nel moves to strengthen the com­bi­na­tion.

The two were al­ready the largest in­de­pen­dent firms in their re­spec­tive re­gions of the coun­try — Plante Mo­ran pri­mar­ily in the Great Lakes area, and EKS&H in the Moun­tain Re­gion — and the com­bined firm ex­pects to be the 11th largest in the coun­try, with more than 3,000 pro­fes­sion­als in 27 of­fices. Plante had $521 mil­lion in 2017 rev­enue, while Den­ver-based EKS&H had $106 mil­lion.

Two prom­i­nent Plante Mo­ran part­ners will re­lo­cate from Michi­gan to Den­ver to help in­te­grate the two firms: the leader of Plante Mo­ran’s wealth man­age­ment prac­tice, Bob Palmer, and the leader of Plante Mo­ran’s tax so­lu­tions group, Nate Buchal­ski. The merger gives Plante Mo­ran of­fices in Down­town Den­ver, the Den­ver Tech Center, Boul­der and Fort Collins.
