Paul Bartko passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 22, 2023.

Paul was born in Geneva, Ohio on February 20, 1944. He is a graduate of Kent State University. He was a teacher and coach at Field Local Schools for over forty years. He loved coaching especially football. He taught physical education, science, industrial arts and driver training.

Paul is survived by his wife of 45 years, Michele; and his two devoted sons, Aaron, and Adam; and his daughter-in-law, Sara. He also loved his three grandchild­ren, Jayson, Zachary and Olivia. He is also survived by his sister, Pat (Jeff), his sister, Kathy (Kim), his brother-in-law, Randy (Chris); sister-in-laws, Jan, Cindy (Dean) and Diane. He also left behind many nieces and nephews.

Paul was an avid sports fan and was a Browns season ticket holder for over thirty years. He never gave up hope. He loved spending Saturdays with his friends at Rays Place watching Ohio State. He also loved playing his weekly golf game with his fellow teachers.

Paul loved the many cruises he took with his wife and trips to Vegas along with trips every year with his sons for March Madness. Paul also loved working in his yard followed by a good IPA on his deck.

Paul was preceeded in death by his mom and Dad and his brother Bill.

In lieu of flowers please stop into Ray’s Place in Fairlawn and have an IPA to remember Paul. He would like that.

Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r and friend.

He will be missed and never forgotten. Friends may call 2-5 PM Saturday at Ciriello and Carr Funeral Home, 39 South Miller Rd. in Fairlawn.
