Samuel (Sam) Vance

AKRON - Samuel (Sam) Vance was rejoined with his beloved wife Betty early Sunday morning, July 16, 2023. Born near Tazwell, Virginia on November 18, 1934, Sam lived his life for his family and the Lord.

An accomplished and versatile musician, Sam loved playing piano in the various churches he attended for many years, but he also loved guitars and fast cars.

Preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Betty Jo (Simmons), parents Garnet and Willie Mae Vance, brothers Oscar and Dempsey Vance, and granddaughter Sarah McCartney,

Sam leaves 5 children - Pat McCartney (Bob), Chris Leonard (Bobby), Jackie Davis, Kellie Gardiner (Brian), and Michael Vance (Jennie), along with 6 grandchildren - John Paul (Faith), Samuel (Brianna), Rachel (Steve), Tia (Adam), Adam (Jenelle), and Michael, and 9 great grandchildren - Trevor, Karson, Adilynn, Zyler, Ryker, Charlie, Henry, Vance, & Avery.
