Friday’s boys high school basketball highlights

STOW 74, BRECKSVILL­E 70 (2OT) Junior Cam Marconi scored 25 points and senior Reece Raymond-Smith contribute­d 22 points to lead the visiting Bulldogs (11-9, 6-6) to a win Friday night over the host Bees (17-3, 12-1), who have already clinched the Suburban League National Conference championsh­ip.

Marconi made four 3-pointers and 9 of 10 free-throw attempts. RaymondSmi­th made two 3s.

Stow junior Austin Wilhoit and senior Tyler Fleishour combined to make five 3s and scored 11 points apiece. The Bulldogs outscored the Bees 30-22 during the fourth quarter and the two overtimes.

“We’re really proud of our boys tonight,” Stow coach David Close said. “They competed against a great and wellcoache­d team in a tough gym to play. It was a real battle. We’re proud of the toughness our kids played with tonight. Nothing came easy. A lot of guys stepped up. We had four guys in double figures with Cam Marconi having a career high 25, Reece with 22 and Fleishour and Wilhoit with 11 each. But every guy that stepped on the floor tonight contribute­d.”

Luke Skaljac, a Miami of Ohio recruit, scored 32 points for Brecksvill­e. His brother, Steven Skaljac, added 11 points and Junior Kambomba scored 10 points.

NORTON 80 RAVENNA 34 The visiting Panthers (18-2, 13-1), who clinched the Metro Athletic Conference championsh­ip earlier this week, won their 10th game in a row.

Luke Dobbins had 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead Norton. Zach Bowman scored 13 points, Andrew Lewis and Stone Hardy had 11 points apiece and Isaac Hunter totaled eight points, six assists and five rebounds.

HIGHLAND 55, BARBERTON 51 The host Hornets (12-8, 9-5) knocked off the Suburban League American Conference champion Magics (18-3, 12-2) with four players in double figures.

Maddox Albright led Highland with 14 points, followed by Zach Butcher (13 points), Liam Kenny (12 points) and Hunter Winston (10 points, 11 rebounds). Kameryn Kennerly paced Barberton with 13 points and De’Arion Holley and Kardiay Tyler had 12 points apiece.

REVERE 73, TALLMADGE 45 The host Minutemen (14-8, 9-5) celebrated Senior Night with a convincing win over the Blue Devils (7-15, 4-10).

Junior Uriah Rodeman led Revere with 15 points and seniors Carson Banks (13), Greg Cochran (11) and Conner Groce (10) also scored in double figures. Junior Mason Aquino contribute­d seven points and senior Evan Oravecz scored six points.

“This was a great Senior Night,” Revere coach Dean Rahas said. “We had 10 guys score, with four in double figures.”

All five of Revere’s seniors — Banks, Cochran, Groce, Oravecz and Luke Butler — scored. Kaden Davis paced Tallmadge with 10 points.

HOBAN 65, GILMOUR ACADEMY 55 Senior Jonas Nichols scored 23 points and freshman John Johnson scored 20 points to lead the visiting Knights (14-7) past the Lancers (12-8). Junior Kenny Scott contribute­d 16 points for Hoban.

MOGADORE 63, ROOTSTOWN 46 Senior Lucas Butler scored 16 points to lead the host Wildcats (17-3, 8-1) past the Rovers (4-16, 1-8) and to at least a share of the Portage Trail Conference title. Mogadore seniors Corey Lehner and Tanner Buso both scored 14 points and junior Nicholas Stephenson had eight points.

WOODRIDGE 55, FIELD 53 Branden Evans scored 17 points to lead the visiting Bulldogs (9-13, 7-7) over the Falcons (4-18, 1-12) in a MAC game. Woodridge’s Evan Duve finished with 13 points and Taneil Gaddis had nine.

FRIDAY’S GIRLS BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS

GARFIELD 44, MANCHESTER 31 Senior Avi Johnson scored 20 points to lead the host Rams (7-15) and senior Mackenzie Westfall scored 20 points for the Panthers (7-15). Garfield senior X’Zaryia Fannin finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and six steals and junior Kanija Kimbrough totaled 10 points, eight rebounds and five blocks.
