FRIDAY’S HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS

BOYS BASKETBALL

HOBAN 75, YOUNGSTOWN CHANEY 49 Senior Jonas Nichols and junior Kenny Scott scored 13 points apiece as reigning Division I state champion Hoban (15-7) concluded its regular-season schedule with a win over visiting Chaney (7-11).

Senior Joey Hardman scored 10 points and freshman John Johnson added eight points for the Knights, who received scoring from 13 players. Austin Brown scored 21 points for Chaney.

GREEN 69, UNIVERSITY 60 Seniors Jarrett Taylor, Brady Rollyson and Samino Manson powered the host Bulldogs (17-5) past the Preppers (10-12). Taylor led all scorers with 26 points, Rollyson contribute­d 21 and Manson finished with 10. University’s Justin Belcher scored 22 points.

MOGADORE 53, LAKE CENTER CHRISTIAN 42 The Wildcats (19-3, 9-1) finished alone atop the Portage Trail Conference standings with a victory over the Tigers (15-7, 6-4). Senior Corey Lehner scored 17 points, senior Layne Miller added 14 and senior Lucas Butler finished with eight.

TWINSBURG 55, AURORA 52 Senior

Sean Cleveland scored 14 points and senior Joshua Lee added 12 points to lead the host Tigers (11-11) past the Greenmen (12-10). Twinsburg’s Cam Wilkerson contribute­d nine points and Cam Patterson finished with eight.

FIRESTONE 67, NORTON 57 Senior Lamar Dampier surpassed 1,000 career points to lead the visiting Falcons (6-16) to a win over the Metro Athletic Conference champion Panthers (18-3). Dampier finished with 24 points and freshman Kamauri Gregory scored 15 points for Firestone.

Johnathan White, Azekiel Al-Amin, Jordan Dampier and Maurice Smith scored six points apiece for the Falcons. Panthers senior Lucas Dobbins paced Norton with 17 points and sophomore Isaac Hunter had 10 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

ST. VINCENT-ST. MARY 98, CLE. LINCOLN WEST 9 The host Irish (19-5) topped the Wolverines (0-11) to advance to a district semifinal in Division

II, Northeast 3. Denni Lawrence (16 points), Erica King (15), Melania Cornute (14), Laila Fleetwood (13) and Kendal Batchik (eight) led STVM.
