In a year that only in­cluded 30 pro­duc­tions for con­sid­er­a­tion, the mu­si­cals Mean Girls and Spongebob Squarepants led the nom­i­na­tions with 12 each, with The Band’s Visit (11) and Frozen (3) round­ing out the Best Mu­si­cal cat­e­gory. Harry Pot­ter and the Cursed Child was a stand­out this year with mas­sive au­di­ence ap­peal, lead­ing to 10 nom­i­na­tions in­clud­ing Best Play. Broad­way re­vivals of An­gels in Amer­ica and Carousel earned 11 nom­i­na­tions each, closely fol­lowed by My Fair Lady with 10 nom­i­na­tions. Josh Groban and Sara Bareilles will co­host the live event from Ra­dio City Mu­sic Hall.
