Lenhardt, Barbara

PRINCETOWN — Barbara T. Lenhardt, 95, transitioned peacefully on June 27, 2018, in her home surrounded by family, caregivers and friends. She was born on November 18, 1922, the daughter of Weston C. and Margaret (nee Jewett) Thayer in Northhampton, Mass. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; and her sister, Jean Ashton. She is survived by her children, Thomas W. Lenhardt, Linda Lenhardt Keach (Neal) and Lisa M.L. Mastrean (Mark). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Barbara graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She earned her bachelors degree in psychology. She was an active member of the Princetown Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, crosswords, gardening and bowling. Barbara grew up on Westfield Farm in Groton, Mass. She retained a great love for her childhood on the farm and for the town of Groton. A calling hour will be from12:30-1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 2, at Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont, NY 12009. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m . Interment will be in Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to the SPCA of Upstate NY, 588 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury NY 12804.
