July Fourth not hot enough for auto dealer promotion
Temperatures are dropping after last week’s string of 90-plus days.
The heat pushed power plants to the limit, trains had to slow on the overheated rails, and storms delayed, diverted and canceled flights.
Among those breathing easy again must have been the folks at Denooyer Chevrolet.
A promotion offering no car payments for a year to auto purchasers last month, but only if the thermometer reached 97 on the Fourth of July, was a close call.
The last we heard, Denooyer was considering some kind of snowrelated event.
Ah, snow. How welcome a few inches would’ve been this week.
