Heartoberfest at Saratoga State Park
SARATOGA — The 13th annual Heartoberfest, in memory of Christie Tolosky, will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Orenda Pavilion at Saratoga State Park.
This Octoberfest-stlye event will include food, beer, auctions and raffles and aims to raise awareness for Long QT Syndrome.
This event is open to the public and proceeds will benefit the SADS Foundation.

Library to host children’s program
HILLSDALE — The
Art School of Columbia County is hosting two free programs for children at the Roeliff Jansen Community Library, 9091 NY-22.
The first program will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 22 and will focus on the poem “Bee! I’m expecting you!” by Emily Dickinson. The second will be at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 29 and children will learn about the poem “Recuerdo” by Edna St. Vincent Millay.

Reading of “Silent Sky” at misci
SCHENECTADY — Capsci and The Dudley Observatory are hosting a staged reading of “Silent Sky” by Lauren Gunderson at 7 p.m. Sept. 27 at misci Museum of Science.
The program blends science, humor and romance, telling the story of celebrated astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt and her female colleagues at the Harvard Observatory, rising above in a male-driven world.
The performance is free with misci museum admission and seating is first-come. Following the show, guests will have an opportunity to stargaze with the observatory’s new 14-inch Schmidt-cassegranian telescope.
