Nisky blanks rival Albany

Niskayuna handed rival Albany just its second loss of the season in a 3-0 shutout win on Saturday in a Suburban Council clash.

Merjan Ozisik, George Tsakalakos and Nick Viggiani scored goals for the Silver Warriors, who improved to 7-2-2 overall and 6-2-2 in the Suburban.

Albany dipped to 10-2 overall and in league play. More boys’ soccer: Hunter Guertin scored four goals to lead Waterford to a 6-1 win against Tamarac in Wasaren League play. Jason Cordts and Jack O’brien nailed Waterford’s other two goals and Xander Gliosco scored the lone goal for Tamarac . ... Maple

Hill advanced to the final in its tournament with a 3-1 victory over Oppenheim-ephratah/st. Johnsville. Seth Roberts paved the way with two goals and Christian Beber sent one in the net as well. Maple Hills will take on Scotia-glenville for the title at 3 p.m. Monday.

Girls’ soccer: Claudia Fountain scored four goals and had an assist to help Catholic Central roll past Cohoes, 6-0, in a Colonial Council contest. Madison Clermont added a goal and two assists for the Lady Crusaders, who evened their record at 7-7.

... Lydia Ware led Averill Park to a 2-0 victory over South Glens Falls, scoring the only goals of the game. Micayla Slattery and Delaney Burton added assists for Averill Park . ... Both Vanessa Evans and Sophie Phillips contribute­d a goal and an assist in Cambridge’s 4-0 nonleague win against Fort Ann. Lily Phillips and Alexciyah Woodworth added the other two goals for the Indians and Sydney Benson finished with an assist.

Girls’ volleyball: Burnt Hills won the John Glenn Tournament by defeating Long Branch, 27-25, 25-21 in the final. Grace Isaksen had 11 digs, Claire Isaksen had 17 assists and Carlie Rzeszotars­ki had eight kills. Burnt Hills moves to 18-1 overall.
