Lounge will also cater to cats seeking homes

-

We’re wondering what took so long.

While other cities have had cat cafes for some time, Troy will be the first in the Capital Region to have its own felineoriented establishment.

Two digital artists — a husband and wife team of Astra Wijaya and Sindy Limin — are converting a building at 348 Second St. in South Troy.

Called the Meong Lounge, the cafe will feature a coworking space and up to a dozen cats from shelters and rescue organizations that likely will seek to be adopted.

The lounge will open in 2019.

Chick-fil-a Take 2: Some clarification

It’s a ribbon-cutting ceremony we wish we’d skipped.

When Chick-fil-a opened Oct. 19 at Albany International Airport, the Buzz noted one company official’s comment that the next closest Chick-fila was 2 1/2 hours away.

We consulted its website to discover that a few were closer, in central Connecticut.

But the map didn’t show any others in this state north of the New York suburbs. So we called the airport eatery the first upstate.

Wrong. We soon learned that Plattsburgh had one, as did the Syracuse suburb of Cicero.

And those folks in costume that we said were dressed like chickens?

They turned out to be cows. Chick-fil-a has billboards, in fact, that have cows urging us to “Eat mor chikin.”

Online anxiety

Lately, our online shipments purchased from the websites of brick and mortar retailers seem to have slowed.

The latest: trying to get a pair of dress pants for a Nov. 1 formal event.

The Buzz found a wellpriced pair Tuesday, which the retailer said would arrive between Oct. 29 and Nov. 1.

It took the retailer two days to ship the package, which arrived Oct. 26 at a regional Fedex facility in Connecticut.

An update said it wouldn’t arrive until Nov. 2, the day after the event. But late Friday afternoon, there was another update. The pants will be here Wednesday, just in time. We’re holding our breath.
