Bren­don Duffy’s goal snapped a 1-1 dead­lock with just 17 sec­onds left in reg­u­la­tion to give Queens­bury a 2-1 vic­tory over Sec­tion III’S Ful­ton on Satur­day in a Class A boys’ soc­cer state re­gional con­test in Liver­pool.

The Spar­tans trailed 1-0 in the first half be­fore Alex Roca evened the game 17 min­utes be­fore the half­time break. The game re­mained tied un­til just be­fore the fi­nal whis­tle when Duffy moved the Spar­tans for­ward to next Satur­day’s state semi­fi­nal round in Mid­dle­town. Peru of Sec­tion VII, 2-2, but won in penalty kicks to move on to the state semi­fi­nals. girls’ soc­cer: Grace Ho­tal­ing and Bri­anna Price pro­vided the of­fense as Beth­le­hem shutout Sec­tion III’S Fayet­teville­man­lius, 2-0, to ad­vance to the Class AA state semi­fi­nals . ... Still­wa­ter also moved on, coast­ing to a 6-0 win in its Class C state re­gional clash against Aus­able Val­ley of Sec­tion VII. Brooke Pick­ett, Teya Staie and Keelyn Pea­cock all scored two goals apiece to help the War­riors roll into the semi­fi­nal round . ... The Pan­thers im­proved to 19-0 on the year and will take on Sec­tion IV’S Whit­ney Point, which beat Cam­den of Sec­tion III 2-0 in its re­gional matchup, at 3 p.m. Satur­day at Wil­liamsville North High School in the state semi­fi­nal round . ... Mamaroneck de­feated Saratoga Springs, 2-0, to close out the Blue Streaks’ sea­son in the Class A state re­gional round at Lake­land . ... Host and field hockey pow­er­house Lake­land was held to just one goal but held on to nip Burnt Hills, 1-0, in their Class B state re­gional game.

girls’ swim­ming: Shenen­de­howa topped ri­val Niskayuna to take the Sec­tion II Di­vi­sion I ti­tle. The Plains­men to­taled 441 points to the Sil­ver War­riors se­cond-place to­tal of 407. Beth­le­hem was a dis­tant third with 254 points. The Shenen­de­howa 200yard med­ley re­lay team of Alice Han, Ali­son Sposili, Shauna Kil­lane and Natasha Sheffer took first with a time of 1:47.88. In Di­vi­sion II, Queens­bury cap­tured the Sec­tion II crown with 401.5 points. Glens Falls placed se­cond with 294. Sarah Lit­tle won the 100 but­ter­fly with a time of 1:00.03 and Wil­low Swan-scott was first in the 100 back­stroke with a time of 1:01.20 to lead Queens­bury.

girls’ volleyball: Voorheesville claimed its se­cond straight state tour­na­ment berth with a 3-1 win over Fonda in the Sec­tion II Class C cham­pi­onship in Saratoga . ... May­field cap­tured the Sec­tion II Class D crown, up­set­ting top-seeded Galway to earn a trip to the state tour­na­ment.
