Police: Man stole from acquaintan­ce

WHITE CREEK — A Watervliet man is accused of stealing and cashing checks totalling more than $5,000 from an elderly person he knew.

Washington County deputies arrested Zachary Worobetz, 31, of Hudson Court on a felony grand larceny charge based on a warrant by Colonie police.

He was arraigned and jailed on $1,000 bail pending a court date in White Creek. The crimes allegedly took place between January and February.

Dad allegedly drunk with a child in car

FONDA — State Police in Fonda arrested an Amsterdam man Thursday for drunken driving with a child under 16 in the vehicle.

Troopers found a disabled car in a ditch off Route 5 in the village of Fonda at 9:30 a.m. They also found Jason Hancock, 35, outside of the car holding his 2-year-old child. The road was slick at the time, troopers said.

Hancock was charged with driving while intoxicate­d under Leandra’s Law after he submitted a 0.08 percent blood alcohol content and released.

Warrant results in stalking charge

KINDERHOOK — State Police said they arrested a Kinderhook man Friday, about eight months after they started an investigat­ion into harassing and unwanted phone calls of a sexual nature.

Christophe­r Sidoti, 39, was arrested at his Birch Road home and charged with three counts of aggravated harassment, a count of stalking and resisting arrest. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizan­ce, pending a Nov. 20 court date.
