Child injured in Troy shooting
TROY — A young boy inside a car was injured Friday night when the car was struck with a bullet that went through the boy’s hand and into the vehicle’s interior, police said.
The child was treated at the scene, at 9th and Middleburgh streets, and taken to a hospital but is expected to be OK, police said. The shooting happened at about 9 p.m.
The investigation so far indicates it was not a random act of violence and that the vehicle that was struck was the intended target, police said.

Albany man blamed in rabbit’s death
HALFMOON — An Albany man faces a felony charge after causing the death of pet rabbit while a child was nearby, Saratoga County sheriff’s investigators said Saturday.
Stephen M. Drake II, 21, of Grandview Terrace, was arrested Thursday on a warrant charging him with felony aggravated cruelty to animals and misdemeanors of criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child, investigators said.
He’s accused of causing the pet’s death as well as busting up the animal’s cage while at a home in the town of Halfmoon.
Drake was arraigned and jailed in lieu of $3,000 bail and will appear in Halfmoon Town Court on Monday. — Staff report
