Holiday Card Contest entries sought

-

What better way to illustrate the holidays than with some illustrations? We want to see the area’s children share their visions of the holidays, so we can share them with you.

Capital Region students in kindergarten through grade 12 can enter our annual Holiday Card Contest. Winners from each grade will be published in the Times Union and online, with one grand prize winner’s image to be front and center on the Times Union’s front page on Christmas Day.

The artists can use traditional or computer-assisted techniques. The illustrations can be any shape, but must not exceed 8 1/2 by 11 inches. Any collages must be flat, without raised surfaces or attachments, and 3-D submissions will not qualify for the contest.

Speaking of entries, we’re going old school. Delivered by mail or by hand, only. Electronic files, either emailed or put on CDS or thumb drives, or other digital submissions will not be accepted.

Entries must include the artist’s full name, age, grade, school and a parent or guardian’s phone number. Entries that do not include this information will not be considered. All entries are property of the newspaper and won’t be returned.

If you mail in your cards, you can send them to: Times Union Holiday Card Contest, Features, P.O. Box 15000, Albany, N.Y. 12212. Handdelivered cards should be brought to the Times Union building (645 Albany Shaker Road, Colonie) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Entries must be brought in to the Times Union, or postmarked to the Times Union, by Friday, Dec. 14.
