SARATOGA — The Franklin Com­mu­nity Cen­ter is host­ing the 8th an­nual San­ta­con at 1 p.m. Satur­day, Dec. 15 at Bai­ley’s Saratoga, 37 Phila St.

This free event is con­sid­ered to be the “Cap­i­tal Dis­trict’s Big­gest Pub Crawl” and is for ages 21 and up. At­ten­dees are asked to bring five or more non-per­ish­able food items to be do­nated to the cen­ter’s food pantry.

Ball­ston Spa pa­rade, tree light­ing Fri­day

BALL­STON SPA — The Ball­ston Spa Busi­ness & Pro­fes­sional As­so­ci­a­tion’s an­nual Ball­ston Spa Hol­i­day Pa­rade and Tree Light­ing will be­gin at 6:30 p.m. Fri­day on Mil­ton Ave.

Santa will be light­ing the Christ­mas tree in Wiswall Park on Front Street fol­low­ing the pa­rade.

Vol­un­teers from the Ball­ston Spa Com­mu­nity Emer­gency Corps, Saratoga County Sher­iff Depart­ment and U.S. Ma­rine Corps will be col­lect­ing new, un­wrapped toys for do­na­tion.

Win­ter Ice Show slated in Del­mar

DEL­MAR — The Al­bany Fig­ure Skat­ing Club will hold its an­nual Win­ter Ice Show from noon to 2 p.m. Satur­day, Dec. 15 at the Beth­le­hem YMCA, 900 Delaware Ave.

The event will fea­ture young fig­ure skaters from the Cap­i­tal Re­gion in solo and group per­for­mances. A bas­ket raf­fle and bake goods will also be avail­able for pur­chase to ben­e­fit the club’s ac­tiv­i­ties and pro­grams.

Schol­ar­ship for ’19 Ta­ma­rac grad­u­ates

BRUNSWICK — The Fi­nance Com­mit­tee of the Cen­ter Brunswick United Methodist Church will be giv­ing the Keyes Ed­u­ca­tion Award to a de­serv­ing stu­dent from the Ta­ma­rac High School Class of 2019.

One stu­dent will be awarded $500 to be used to­ward any ex­pense re­lated to fur­ther ed­u­ca­tion. In­ter­ested stu­dents must ap­ply no later than March 1, 2019 by vis­it­ing Cen­ter­brunswick­umc.com­pany.
