WGY photo on exhibit at airport in California
There’s a bit of local broadcasting history in an exhibit on display at San Francisco International Airport. The exhibit, On the Radio, focuses on the earliest days of radio, and includes an array of receivers and other technology.
While much of the exhibit focuses on California’s role in radio history, the exhibit, in the departures level of Terminal 3, also includes a photo taken at WGY’S studios in Schenectady. The Schenectady station was one of the nation’s earliest broadcasters. It debuted Feb. 20, 1922. The exhibit runs through Dec. 30.
