Gas sta­tion robbed in Guilder­land

GUILDER­LAND — Town po­lice are search­ing for the sus­pect who robbed the Mo­bil gas sta­tion at 3605 Car­man Road late Fri­day.

The crime oc­curred about 11 p.m. when the sus­pect en­tered the gas sta­tion dis­play­ing a hand­gun and stole an undis­closed amount of cash and cig­a­rettes, po­lice said. He fled on foot head­ing west on Car­man Road.

The clerk was not in­jured. The sus­pect is de­scribed as black, about 5-foot-5, wear­ing a red sweat­shirt, blue jeans, gray and white sneak­ers and a blue ban­dana on his face.

Guilder­land po­lice of­fi­cers and a po­lice ca­nine searched the area with help from Rot­ter­dam po­lice and the Sch­enec­tady County Sher­iff’s Of­fice.

Body re­cov­ered from Hud­son River

TROY — A woman’s body was pulled from the Hud­son River by a tug­boat crew off Al­bany af­ter she ap­par­ently jumped from the Troy-menands Bridge, ac­cord­ing to Troy fire and po­lice Fri­day.

The woman’s car was found in the mid­dle of the bridge, Deputy Po­lice Chief Daniel Dewolf said.

The fire depart­ment was bring­ing its fire boat to the river when the tug­boat re­cov­ered the body, Fire Chief Thomas Gar­rett said.

The name of the woman has not been re­leased.

10-year prison term in shots-fired case

AL­BANY — A city man was sen­tenced Fri­day to 10 years in prison for shoot­ing a gun into the air dur­ing a child cus­tody ex­change last year, ac­cord­ing to the Al­bany County Dis­trict At­tor­ney’s Of­fice.

Keith Gille­spie, 50, was found guilty in Oc­to­ber of three counts of felony crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of a weapon anda count of mis­de­meanor en­dan­ger­ing the wel­fare of a child.

The court found Gille­spie guilty of shoot­ing off the gun twice dur­ing the cus­tody ex­change Nov. 24, 2017, near a home on Clin­ton Av­enue. Of­fi­cials said Gille­spie pointed the gun at two vic­tims he knew, then fled into an apart­ment and ditched the gun in the back­yard.

Co­caine, pot seized in Schuylerville

SCHUYLERVILLE — State Po­lice seized a pound of “high grade co­caine,” two pounds of mar­i­juana, steroids and $4,000 in cash Fri­day af­ter search­ing a home near the Schuylerville school campus.

Ar­rested were Peter D. Hock­ford, 49, of Schuylerville; Collin Morency, 19, of Green­wich; and Wil­liam Bullard, 30, of Hud­son Falls, State Po­lice said.

Hock­ford was charged with felony crim­i­nal pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance and pos­ses­sion of a con­trolled sub­stance with in­tent to sell, and felony crim­i­nal mar­i­juana pos­ses­sion and sev­eral mis­de­meanor charges, po­lice said. Both Morency and Bullard were charged with felony crim­i­nal sale of con­trolled sub­stance.

Af­ter ar­raign­ment, bail was set for Morency and Bullard. Hock­ford is be­ing held with­out bail in the Saratoga County Jail.
