Saratoga balloon festival part of fashion shoot
Saratoga’s own Balloon and BBQ Festival was recently used as a backdrop for a fashion photo shoot featured in Harper’s Bazaar magazine.
World renowned fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski, photographed famed models with the hot air balloons as an accessory to the shots. Lubomirski was the official photographer for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding.
“We loved hosting Harper’s Bazaar,” said Christian Dutcher, one of the festival’s directors. “We have a beautiful balloon festival in a beautiful part of the world, which made for an excellent match for their colorful fashions.”
The next Saratoga Balloon and BBQ Festival will take place June 21-23, 2019 at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds.

Albany gallery reopens on railroad Avenue
Art Associates Gallery recently reopened at a new location.
Originally established in 1986 by Geraldine Walsh, AAG was joined by master craftsman Attila Zalavary in 1996.
After Walsh passed away suddenly in 2016, Zalavary carried on the work, and recently finalized the full acquisition of the original business.
Formerly located in the First Prize Center in Albany, the gallery moved to 21 Railroad Ave. in Albany.
The first exhibition at the new location, “Friends of the Gallery,” will be on display through Monday. It features local artists Glenn Davenport, George Dirolf, Dorothy Englander, Allan Gallagher, Trish Hennessy, Kim Marks, Anthony Salamone, Susan Gill Spellmeyer and Nina Stanley, as well as special guest Hungarian artist J. Pechyhorvath.
The gallery shares cooperative space with a working artist and two small businesses.
In addition to custom framing and exhibition space, AAG offers art restoration, frame refinishing and restoration, corporate framing and installation, shadowboxes, memorabilia and heirloom preservation and presentation. Workshops, lectures and art classes will now also be offered.
