Niskayuna police arrest bank robbery suspect
ROTTERDAM — Several hours after the Pioneer Bank branch on Altamont Avenue was robbed Friday, police arrested the man they suspect of the crime.
Robert P. Turner, 34, of Christian Court in Niskayuna, is accused of entering the branch just after 10 a.m. and passing a note to the teller demanding cash, town police said. Turner’s note implied he had a weapon but none was displayed. No one was hurt.
Turner ran off with an undisclosed amount of money, but police said they were able to make an arrest by 11:30 p.m.
He was charged with third-degree robbery and grand larceny, arraigned and sent to the Schenectady County jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. Niskayuna police assisted in the arrest.
Glenville man faces two felony child porn charges
GLENVILLE — A town man was charged Thursday with two felony counts related to child pornography, police said Saturday.
Glenville police arrested Jason Brann, 38, after an investigation found that last September Brann had and promoted child pornography, police said. There were no indications Brann had actual contact with any children, according to police.
Brann was charged with promoting sexual content of a child under the age of 17, and possessing sexual images of a child under the age of 16.
Brann was sent to the
Schenectady County Jail without bail, and will appear in Town Court on Jan. 15.
Hit-and-run near Peddler’s being investigated
CLIFTON PARK — State Police and Saratoga County deputies are investigating a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday near Peddler’s Bar & Bistro on Clifton Park Village Road.
An unknown vehicle struck a person walking in the grassy area near the road, possibly an older, small Pontiac sedan, white, possibly a G6. The condition of the pedestrian was not provided.
