Albany Realty Group founder honored

-

The New York State Association of Realtors named Marie Bettini, founder of the Albany Realty Group, as its 2018 Realtor of the Year.

Bettini is the 61st recipient of the award, which recognizes outstanding service to the organization at the local, state and national levels, a strict adherence to the high principles of the National Association of Realtors’ code of ethics, a commitment to civic activity and business accomplishments.

Bettini launched her career in Amsterdam in 1991 before moving to Delmar. She has been a member of the Greater Capital Association of Realtors for 24 years and has twice served as its president.

Technology is the most notable change in the housing market in the years Bettini has been in the business, she said.

“Technology allows me to stay in close contact with people and having that ability is a plus,” she said. “But it makes consumers feel that they’re the professionals, but the information they’re receiving doesn’t translate into knowledge of a market. Consumers need to rely on Realtors who understand the ins and outs of how the process works, and the nuances that arise every step of the way in a transaction.”

NYSAR is a nonprofit trade organization and represents more than 55,000 of the state’s real estate professionals.
