Brett Supinski scored a goal and reached a milestone as No. 15 Union topped St. Lawrence 4-3 Saturday at Appleton Arena in Canton.

The Dutchmen (11-6-4, 4-5-1) held a 54-19 advantage in shots, but never could quite shake the lowly Saints (3-16-1, 1-6-1). St. Lawrence has lost five straight and is in last place in the ECAC.

Cole Maier ripped a low one-timer past Daniel Mannella stick-side for the winner with less than seven minutes left. Maier’s score gave Union a two-goal lead at the time, but Dylan Woolf scored to make things interesting at the end.

Despite the close call Union never trailed and dominated for much of the game.

Parker Foo scored off a mistake by goaltender Mannella to get Union on the board first 8:47 into the game. Foo intercepted Mannella’s attempted clearing pass behind the Saints net and fired the puck into the open net before Mannella could circle back around.

Later in the period the Dutchmen had a goal disallowed because of a high-sticking call.

A defensive turnover in the Union end resulted in David Jankowski’s first goal of the season, but Sean Harrison put Union back up 32 seconds later. It was Harrison’s third goal of the season.

St. Lawrence had a two-man advantage for two minutes in the second period, but Union killed off the major and minor penalties.

Supinski scored his sixth of the season on a shot from the slot to give Union its first two-goal lead of the night. His goal at 4:15 of the third period made it 3-1. He has 32 career goals and 68 assists. He is the 17th player in program history to reach the 100-point mark.

Bo Hanson scored on a 2-on-1 breakaway less than five minutes later to revive St. Lawrence.

Maier restored the two-goal margin and Woolf netted his first of the season for the final margin.

Jake Kupsky had 16 saves for Union. Mannella finished with 50 stops in net for St. Lawrence.
