Last year some of the best discounts could be found on home and garden items and apparel for the family. In 2019, 46 percent of the Memorial Day sales we saw were clothing discounts, Ramhold
said.
Mattress sales are also synonymous with Memorial Day. If you’re in need of a new mattress, and willing to invest even if you can’t test, now is still the time to buy.
“Buying a mattress online has only grown more common in recent years, so even if you can’t shop instore, you can still find agreatdealonanew bed,” Ramhold said.
That’s just the tip of it. Watch for stores like Best Buy, The Home Depot and Lowe’s to offer steep savings on appliances. You’ll also find deals on electronics, video games, computers and laptops.
If you want to savor the sunshine and make the most of this incomparable Memorial Day holiday weekend, don’t feel compelled to cash in by Monday.
“Some holidays have sales that last only through the holiday itself, but Memorial Day isn’t one of them,” said Ramhold, who suggests keeping an eye out the rest of the week. “If you miss out on the sales on Memorial Day, you’ll have a little more time to shop, but selection will be limited.”
