The Hunt
Gagged, disoriented and afraid, 12 people wake up in a clearing without any idea who or what has put them there. As they untie themselves and begin to gather their bearings, shots ring out — they’re being hunted. Unbeknownst to them, a section of the radical left’s elite, led by the ruthless Athena Stone (Swank), have been tracking their digital footprints, choosing each of the 12 strangers specifically for their extremely conservative views and overall “deplorable” behavior. A conspiracy theory passed around alt-right forums is proven to be true: poor, right-wing devotees are killed by rich liberals in a game designed to punish them for their beliefs. Armed only with simple weapons and the guidance of their reluctant leader, Crystal (Gilpin), the hunted do what they can to turn the tables against their torturers.

Daniel (Bielenia) is serving jail time for second-degree murder when he has a spiritual awakening and becomes convinced that he is meant to serve as a priest when he is released. His sentence involves government-assigned work, and he is sent to work at a sawmill in a small town. There, he finds the perfect opportunity to play the role of priest to the naive townspeople. As time goes on, however, both Daniel and his would-be congregation unravel in ways they couldn’t have predicted. Director: Jan Komasa.
