Business announces relocation to Cohoes
Rod Dion, owner of Tech Valley Office Interiors, a 15-year-old office furniture dealership, bought a 10,600-square-foot building at 50 Mohawk St., Cohoes and will be moving his business to the new location.
The company is currently located at 30 Kraft Ave., Albany. Dion expects the move to be complete by the first week of July. The deal was brokered by Alison Burnside of Dartmouth Realty and Dan Lesage of Hunt Realty. Financing was provided by Capital Bank and the Al-tech Fund through the Capital Region Chamber of Commerce.
The new location was built in 1978 for Dansk Dishware and was used, until recently, by Key Bank as a regional mail headquarters.
In addition to Dion’s business and Nu2u Quality Used Office furniture, the building will house the first co-working space in Cohoes, Harmony Co-working, managed by Tech Valley Office Interiors staff. It will have space for 20 people.
The space will include a 4,000 square-foot showroom, a 3,000 square-foot warehouse and a “Quickshop” showroom. Tech Valley Interiors has eight full-time employees and several part-time installation staffers.
Tech Valley will use its new space to show customers how to retrofit work spaces for a postpandemic work environment.
Dion is also the chairman of the Cohoes Industrial Development Agency. He’s excited about moving his company back into his home community.
“This is a dream I never thought would come true. The building, and the opportunity to move jobs back to Cohoes is so exciting for all involved. My young design staff is extremely excited about moving to a more walkable community,” Dion said.
