Cadets commended
La Salle Institute honored its graduating class of 2021 Friday during a ceremony featuring Siena College President Christopher P. Gibson, PH.D., a decorated combat veteran and former congressman, as the keynote speaker. The ceremony took place on the institute’s athletic field. Bennett F. Beaulieu, right, gave the valedictory address.
“This is an opportunity to pause for a moment and let our seniors know how important they are to our La Salle community and how proud we are for how they have persevered,” said La Salle Institute President and Principal Joseph Raczkowski ’72. “This group of exceptional cadets faced extraordinary challenges yet completed their junior and senior years with distinction and commitment. They excelled in academics, athletics, maintained relationships with fellow students and their teachers, and continued to support their communities while complying with health and safety protocols. I have no doubt they will go on to have great success in college and life.”
Members of the class of 2021 were collectively accepted to 117 colleges and universities in 21 states and the District of Columbia and earned 163 scholarships totaling more than $11.9 million over four years, the school said.
To adhere to all CDC and New York state guidelines, attendance was invite-only to ensure the safety and health of students, staff and families. The ceremony was live-streamed.
