Niskayuna rallies for win

Niskayuna outscored visiting Rome Free Academy 20-8 in the fourth quarter to rally for a 46-42 win on Saturday in a nonleague boys’ basketball contest.

Owen Evans scored 15 of his game-high 18 points in the final quarter to lead the Silver Warriors to the come-from-behind victory. Jack Allen chipped in with 11 points for Niskayuna.

Kaiden McCaskill had 13 points to lead Rome Free Academy, which held a 34-26 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

Robert Jordan scored 24 points to help host Fort Plain cruise past Dolgeville 64-47 in another nonleague game. Fort Plain jumped ahead 19-11 in the first quarter and coasted to the finish line for the win. Levi Thomas chipped in with 14 points for the Hilltopper­s . ... Warrensbur­g escaped with a 47-45 home win against Hadley-Luzerne in an Adirondack League matchup. The Burghers scored 21 points in the final quarter to pick up the win. Steve Schloss scored 21 points to lead Warrensbur­g . ... Albany Academy topped Amsterdam 80-52 in more nonleague action. Keyshaun Tillery scored 19 points and added seven assists to lead the Cadets. Girls’ basketball: Holy Names defeated Troy 44-37 in a nonleague contest in Troy. Ryan Carroll scored 18 points and Sophia Bologna added 15 points to lead Holy Names. Addie Borowsky and Solaris Nunez each scored 13 points to lead the Flying Horses . ... Sam Howland had 16 points to lead Whitehall to an easy 42-21 victory over Poultney, Vt. Whitehall led 17-14 at halftime before breaking open the game in the third quarter by outscoring Poultney 15-4.
