The University at Albany women’s basketball team just keeps rolling along, topping visiting Hartford 53-24 on Saturday at SEFCU Arena in Albany.

The Great Danes have won five straight and remain perfect at home, upping their mark to 11-0 at SEFCU Arena this season. UAlbany improved to 16-6 overall and 9-2 in the America East Conference.

The Great Danes’ defense was the star of the day on Saturday, holding the Hawks to single digits in each of the four quarters while holding them to just 26.2 percent (11-for-42) shooting from the field.

UAlbany scored 25 points in the first half, cruising to an 11-point lead at the halftime break, which was enough to coast to the win.

Kayla Cooper, once again, led the offense with 12 points and Freja Werth added 10 points off the bench to pace the Great Danes.

Lya Farcy scored six points to lead Hartford, which sunk to 2-17 and 2-6 in league play.

UAlbany travels to Orono, Maine, to take on the rival Black Bears at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
