Syracuse overwhelms Louisville by 23
Balanced attack, led by Buddy Boeheim, helps Orange win 3rd straight
Buddy Boeheim and Jesse Edwards scored 19 points apiece and Joe Girard III scored 15 and Syracuse dumped Louisville 92-69 on Saturday for the Orange’s thirds traight win.
Louisville now has dropped five straight. Syracuse started the game shooting 9-for-10 and never trailed. Syracuse led 11-10 before going on a 14-4 run in a threeminute span and went up 25-14 with 12:37 before halftime.
The Orange distributed nine assists on 16 made baskets in 29 attempts, went 8-for-15 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc and led 43-26 at halftime.
Syracuse proceed to outscore Louisville 26-16 over the first 9:30 of the second half and extended its lead to 69-42. The Orange finished shooting 55.2 percent (32-for-58) including 52.2 percent (12-for-23) from beyond the arc.
Jimmy Boeheim scored 14 points for Syracuse (12-11, 6-6 ACC).
Reserves Jaelyn Withers scored 13 points and El Ellis and Samuell Williamson 10 apiece for Louisville.
Auburn 74, Georgia 72: Wendell Green Jr. made a tiebreaking layup with four seconds remaining and No. 1 Auburn got past Georgia, extending the nation’s longest winning streak to 19 games.
Purdue 82, Michigan 76: Jaden Ivey scored 23 points and Trevion Williams added 19 to lead No. 4 Purdue.
Kentucky 66, Alabama 55: TyTy Washington scored 15 points, Oscar Tshiebwe had 15 rebounds and No. 5 Kentucky won its fourth straight with a victory over Alabama.
Arizona 72, USC 63: Azuolas Tubelis scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Kerr Kriisa added 13 points and No. 7 Arizona rallied in the second half for a win over No. 19 Southern Cal.
Kansas 83, Baylor 59: Christian Braun and Ochai Agbaji each scored 18 points and No. 10 Kansas bolted to a big lead and routed No. 8 Baylor to hold the top spot in the Big 12 Conference race.
Duke 87, North Carolina 67: Freshman A.J. Griffin scored a season-high 27 points to help No. 9 Duke roll past rival North Carolina in retiring Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski’s final visit to Chapel Hill.
Wisconsin 51, Penn State 49: Tyler Wahl made a tiebreaking layup with 30.5 seconds left to give No. 11 Wisconsin a victory over Penn State that extended the Badgers’ home winning streak in the series.
Villanova 85, UConn 74: Eric Dixon scored a career-high 24 points and Collin Gillespie scored 19 before he left with an injury and No. 12 Villanova beat No. 17 Connecticut. Gillespie is Villanova’s leading scorer and returned for a fifth season after a torn ligament in his left knee cost him the 2021 Big East Tournament and NCAA Tournament.
Rutgers 84, Michigan State 63: Paul Mulcahy had his first-career doubledouble with 15 points and a career-high 12 assists, Ron Harper Jr. added 17 points and Rutgers routed No. 13 Michigan State.
Texas Tech 60, West Virginia 53: Bryson Williams scored 15 points, Terrence Shannon sparked a second-half comeback and No. 14 Texas Tech beat West Virginia.
Illinois 74, Indiana 57: Trent Frazier scored 23 points, Kofi Cockburn added 17 and No. 18 Illinois surged in the second half to beat Indiana.
DePaul 69, Xavier 65: Courvoisier McCauley scored 21 points and Jalen Terry had 13 as short-handed DePaul beat No. 21 Xavier to snap a four-game losing streak.
Texas 63, Iowa State 41: Marcus Carr and Andrew Jones each scored 14 points and No. 23 Texas used a barrage of 3-pointers in the opening minutes of the second half to pull away from No. 20 Iowa State.
Tennessee 81, South Carolina 57: Zakai Zeigler tied his career high with 18 points — all coming in the second half — including back-to-back 3-pointers to break open a tight game as No. 22 Tennessee pulled away.
Vanderbilt 75, LSU 66: Rodney Chatman scored a season-high 24 points, making 6 of 10 from 3-point range, and Vanderbilt beat No. 25 LSU for the Commodores’ biggest win this season.

Iowa State 76, Oklahoma State 58: Emily Ryan was 6-for-6 from 3-point range to lead No. 11 Iowa State to its 20th win of the season to match the best start in school history as the Cyclones completed a season sweep of Oklahoma State.
BYU 62, Gonzaga 50: Paisley Harding scored 22 points and No. 16 BYU erased a 15-point halftime deficit by holding Gonzaga to just 15 second-half points, handing the Bulldogs their first West Coast Conference loss.
