Smyth-Massaroni mulls Senate seat
TROY — Andrea Smyth-Massaroni said last week she has established an exploratory committee to evaluate the newly created Senate district that encompasses the cities of Troy, Schenectady and Saratoga Springs.
“With the creation of this new Senate district, it is a great opportunity to have a Democratic Senator represent this region. Our region needs a senator who will fight for new jobs, ensure climate protection, more school aid, better health care, behavioral health services, increased voting rights, equity and inclusion, and equal rights for women,” Smyth-Massaroni said.
She and her husband, Ron Massaroni, have three children.
In 2017, Smyth-Massaroni ran unsuccessfully for Rensselaer County executive.
