Zasada, Linda (Hoffman)

-

ROTTERDAM — Linda (Hoffman) Zasada passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Wednesday, January 5, 2022, following a long illness.

Born in Troy, Linda was the youngest daughter of the late Nathan Thomas and Anne (Pafundi) Hoffman. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High, class of 1967, the Nursing Program at Russell Sage and Empire State College. Linda worked in healthcare for all her professional life and had a passion for administering aid; even after she retired as an R.N., Linda continued to find joy in taking care of those closest to her. She was always quick to laugh, with a huge heart and a riotous sense of humor, and was always eager to help anyone, however she could.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband, James Zasada, with whom she celebrated 39 years of marriage. She is also survived by her children, Nathan and Elizabeth Zasada; her sister, Patricia (Hoffman) Belfay; all her nieces and nephews whom she loved so dearly, and her dog, Rhyce.

Linda loved her family, thunderstorms, dogs, a good joke, Pepsi, popcorn, Christmas, telling stories, Autumn (for the changing of the leaves and her birthday in October), classic rock and people falling down. She was a devoted wife, adoring mother, incredible friend and a kind soul; she was gentle and sweet, and had time and a smile for everyone.

Special thanks to her nieces, Ann (Belfay) Franquiz, Laura (Belfay) Jacques and Katherine (Belfay) Doyon who, along with their families, always went out of their way to show Linda how much she meant to them and how much they loved her. Finally, much gratitude and appreciation to the staff of Schenectady Center, who loved her and cared for her in her final days.

Linda was loved and she will be missed. She is at rest, with her family and pets that have already passed on, waiting to see us again. In lieu of services, a memorial ceremony will be held at a forthcoming date, to-beannounced in the spring.
