CHARLOTTE, N.C.

— David Michael Camadine, "Cam," 65, died peacefully and unexpectedly on November 24, 2021, in Charlotte, N.C.

Dave is survived by his daughter, Dana; son, Grant; and friend and former wife, Vicki Morales of Jacksonville, Fla. Dave is also survived by his brother, Paul of San Jose, Calif. He was predeceased in 2011 by his mother, Leona Mulligan, of Boynton Beach, Fla.

Dave was born on October 29, 1956. Growing up, he excelled in many sports. During his high school years, he developed his lifelong passion for the game of golf. When the Town of Colonie Golf Course opened, it became Dave’s second home.

Dave moved his family to Florida in 1996. There, his circle of friends grew even larger. He began to play in golf tournaments in the greater Florida area. He became known as an exceptional golfer and on the weekends made himself available to caddie. These opportunities included carrying the bag for golf greats Sergio Garcia and Arnold Palmer. He often said that his four hours with "The

King" was his greatest golf memory.

Dave used his love of golf as a conduit to friendships, old and new. His quick wit attracted people to him right away. He was the first to extend his hand, a great listener, and hard-pressed to talk about himself. When he did, it was wrapped in selfdeprecating humor. Although his adventuresome spirit and disdain for winter took him away from his roots, he never forgot them. Dave played in the Tupper Lake Open in New York for more than 35 years and won his division as recently as 2021. No one knows how many rounds of golf Dave played in his lifetime, but many friends who played with Dave will think of him every time they tee it up. Off the tee, he was generally down the middle and long... very long. In recent years, his golf memberships included Irish Creek in Kannapolis, N.C., Cowan’s Ford G.C. in Lowesville, N.C., and Mimosa Hills in Morganton, N.C.

Dave loved life, and, as he grew older, he embraced it and explored it more than ever, whether it be stopping at some back-road country BBQ pit in Carolina; traveling to Iceland with his daughter, Dana; snowboarding at Sugar Mountain with his son, Grant; ferreting out a great bottle of bourbon to share with friends; or pursuing his life-long love of golf by playing anywhere, anytime, with friends. He was always looking for a new adventure, a new story, a new friend. Cam was a generous person, and his generosity was quiet. He was the embodiment of the saying "give without remembering, receive without forgetting."

At the time of his passing, Dave was a branch manager for the industrial manufacturing firm F.N. Sheppard, headquartered in Erlander, Ky. As a businessman, Dave had a successful 40-year professional career as a manager in industries including environmental technologies, material handling, medical devices, and industrial manufacturing solutions. He was successful in every position he ever held yet never let career aspirations get in the way of commitments to his family, his friends, or passion for exploring new adventures.

A celebration of life will be held early summer 2022 in New York.
