Moore’s 3 lifts CCHS to a win

Basket with 9.2 seconds left in OT propels Crusaders

Darien Moore buried a 3-pointer with 9.2 seconds left in overtime to propel Catholic Central to a 62-61 win over Fonda in a Class B boys’ basketball quarterfin­al game at Hudson Valley Community College.

Catholic Central rallied from an 11-point deficit to advance to the semifinals.

On the game-winner, Sei’Mir Roberson slashed into the paint and kicked the ball out to Moore on the left wing. Moore hit nothing but net. Moore was 12-for-22 from the field for 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Roberson finished with 16 points.

Allen Booth scored 23 points and Nick Hastings added 18 points and seven rebounds to lead the Braves.

More boys’ basketball :In Class AA playoff action, Isaiah Austin scored 17 to reach 1,000 for his career and lead Albany to a 63-59 win over Shenendeho­wa. Malachi Perry scored nine of his 13 points in the final five minutes to help the Falcons pull away for the win. Mason Courtney scored 19 for the Plainsmen. ... Also in Class AA, No. 10 seed La Salle upset No. 2 Niskayuna 54-51 in overtime. La Salle scored 11 straight points late in the fourth quarter to overcome an eight-point deficit, capped by Jason Bradwell Jr.’s 3-pointer with 9.1 seconds left, before Niskayuna’s Sam Booth hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game to overtime. Chrischen Chung scored five points in overtime for La Salle. Adam Myers made two free throws with 13.1 seconds in OT to give La Salle a three-point lead. Niskayuna had two 3-point attempts at the buzzer but missed . ... Isaiah Eckler scored 11 of his team-high 16 points in the first half as Hoosic Valley built a double-digit lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 63-47 win over Canajohari­e in the Class CC quarterfin­als. Logan Reilly was 7-for-8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter and finished with 13 points to help seal the win. L.A. Fairley led the Cougars with 17 points . ... Mark Edwards scored 40 points to lead Berne-Knox to a 73-47 win over Whitehall in the Class C quarters. Edwards scored 24 in the first half as Berne-Knox built a 35-21 lead.
